News Update

Well, we have ended our season on a real high, with a great event at West Oxford to finish the series and a pretty successful series it has been too. We will post up more details and data as soon as we can compile all the info.

Paul is already busy working on next seasons events, which are almost complete. It looks similar to this year with a few little interesting twists and turns we hope. Details will be posted as soon as the final couple of events are firmed up.

Details of the Dinghy Show are firming up as well. Updated web pages with information on the 2013 show will be posted as soon as they are available. It is sure to attract lots of attention following the great success of our Olympic sailing team.

Already some of our youngsters are talking about the Bloody Mary pursuit race at Queen Mary SC in January. Stephen and Alex have started a thread on the Forum, and we have a web page here on the event.

Christmas Competition

John and Robbie Claridge, our Class builders are very kindly staging a little Class competition and have also donated the prizes. 1st prize is a Wind Design sailing watch. John and Robbie will be the judges and here is what you have to do, it should be a lot of fun, some at my expense, read more below.

Instructions from John and Robbie

Here is a short video clip, just three minutes, featuring our revered class president taken at the Rum and Mince Pie open meeting this year. Wayne has sportingly agreed for us to use it for our spot what he is doing wrong competition.

You can find the Video Here: COMPETITION VIDEO

Wayne is sailing LN407. We want a short description of what he is doing wrong and there is more than one thing. Concise answers both humorous and informative will be judged by myself and Robbie, with a digital start watch and possibly other prizes to be awarded for what we consider to be the best.

Entries to be in by 12.00, on the 22nd December 2012 to this email address: COMPETITION EMAIL

There is a web page with photos, links and more details here: COMPETITION WEB PAGE

Hope you all have a good Christmas.

Best regards,

John and Robbie

New Videos

We have some great new videos on the web site. John and Robbie, took some footage at the Rum and Mince pie event and have voiced it over providing some very helpful coaching commentary.

Also Keith Hill and Lee Bratley has sent us a near professional quality video of the Northern Champs at Manor Park SC this year. A really super effort and very watchable, it has a soundtrack, titles, captions, the lot.

Our Video Library is Here: VIDEO LIBRARY

Some really great efforts to watch on these cold winter evenings.

The New Season

Our new season will start on the 5th and 6th of April 2013 at Manor Park SC. Saturday will be a Class Training Day, with coaching by John and Robbie. We are intending to do this a little different this time, breaking the fleet into groups based on skill levels, so everyone gets some really top class coaching to kick of the season.

Sunday will be our first racing event and the Northern championships. Manor Park SC is a great venue with some good and very reasonably priced Bed and Breakfast accommodation close by.

And so to Close

Anyway, hope everyone is starting to relax for our closed season, whether you’re planning a bit of hibernation, or sailing though the winter, I hope you enjoy it. Very best wishes for Christmas and the New Year, I hope you have a very happy and successful 2013.

Kindest Regards to all
