Fun Up River

Fun Up River

What a great start to the season. Thanks to the 19 boats who made the effort to travel to Essex for the opening event of the season. It was a challenging race day on the Sunday but one which everyone seemed to enjoy, or were they just being polite? Saturday was as always great fun as can be seen from the picture of Julie Lee has posted up. If they had sound you would have heard her coming! Small break now until Manor Park on the 6th June. Just time to get your breath back. Hope to see lots of you there again.

Travellers series Update

The Results and Report for Hunstanton are now posted featuring the mug shot shown here and the Travellers series has been updated putting Paul White well clear of the chasing Up River pack. After Lunch it was Penny’s turn to show everyone a clean pair of heels and although Matt chased her on the...

The morning started grey and wet, but the strong winds were fitful due to the direction over the wooded south bank. The race started just as strange. Matt made the mistake of going for a practice beat and I forgot I had snapped the rope holding the kicker block in the previous race. I noticed as I launched and had to return to the bank to make a quick fix.  Launching with 30 seconds to go and I got caught...
