Mind the Gap!

Mind the Gap!

Well its the yearly trip to Manor Park SC this weekend. If you have not been before it is a great club near Lichfield, Staff with the unique feature of two lakes joined by the famous ‘Gap’. The club house it on the small lake and you sail through the gap (crossing a tributary of the River Trent) and into the racing lake.   Racing is due to start at 11am, wind reports have calmed down to more sensible numbers now so come along and join what is always a fund days racing. If you really feel you are up to it you could always join us in the pub later. With no racing on Sunday it could be messy...

Forum Bug

Hi All, Unfortunately a recent update to the forum software on the website has introduced a bug. I’m not able to provide a quick fix, we need to wait for an updated forum theme to address the problem. Essentially when you run over a link on the forum home page, it will display a blank page. You will have to navigate back to another page using the browsers back link button. You can still use the forum, however you will need to navigate to forums and posts, via the Links in this image These will take you to a specific forum or post. Fun Up River

Fun Up River

What a great start to the season. Thanks to the 19 boats who made the effort to travel to Essex for the opening event of the season. It was a challenging race day on the Sunday but one which everyone seemed to enjoy, or were they just being polite? Saturday was as always great fun as can be seen from the picture of Julie Lee has posted up. If they had sound you would have heard her coming! Small break now until Manor Park on the 6th June. Just time to get your breath back. Hope to see lots of you there again.

So Here We Go 2015

Well, winter is behind us again and we are weeks away from the start of the new season. Our first event of 2015 is at Up River YC on the 18th and 19th April 🙂 Saturday is our usual seasonal opener training day, with Paul and Simon on hand to provide some expert advice and coaching to get your season off to a flying start. Sunday you get to put all that coaching into practice with the first open event of 2015. Camping overnight is available at the club, mostly in the relative comfort of the club house. I’m sure Simon and co will be arranging the usual curry and refreshments, which all goes to help the sailing on Sunday. As always, our opens are very friendly affairs, newcomers to class racing and open events are always welcome. It really is a very fun and welcoming class in that respect. Details can be found here: Up River...
