Dinghy Show Day One

Dinghy Show Day One

Great day at the show today, very strong attendance and lots and lots of interest in the Lightning. I think everyone who wanted bits and pieces from John got their goodies (mine was one of the new rudder blades) but rudders, sails, pod bits, tank hatches and all sorts of other stuff were duly exchanged, saving lots of people expensive postage and packing.

As I said interest in the Lightning was very good, and even better Y&Y have said they will publish a boat review, focusing on the updates John has made to the design. We are in the process of arranging the details, but Pete Barton has said he will do the test sail down in Lymington with John, so many thanks to Y&Y for this.

Leaving aside Lightnings for a moment, there’s lots to see at the show, boats of all kinds, including the first canting keel dinghy (quite a thing to see) and loads of equipment and kit, so it’s hard to see any dinghy sailor not enjoying the event.

Hope to see you tomorrow.
