Subs Time Again

Hi Folks,

Well as we approach the end of the year, it’s time to renew your Class Association subscriptions again.

Sue will be sending out membership renewal forms shortly and this year we are going to add bank details so you can make a direct bank transfer if you want, rather than messing about with a cheque. Either is fine of course, but some people now want to make direct payments so we’ll include the details so you can.

If you do make a direct payment, please drop Sue a quick email so she is aware you have, then we can make sure we have linked all the payments, a quick email just makes it a bit easier to reconcile everything.

You can also find the 2013 membership form on the Membership Page here: MEMBERSHIP DETAILS

As usual Rupert is busy producing the Class Yearbook, which will go out with membership cards early in the new year. Paul is finalising details of the 2013 Open Series, which will get underway on the 5th and 6th April 2013 at Manor Park SC. Saturday will be a Class Training Day and Sunday the first open event of the new series. And Caroline is busy with prep for the Dinghy Show, more of which in a moment.

In between times, we have a few people looking to have a go at the Bloody Mary at Queen Mary’s SC on the 12th January. We get a Class Start in this event if we can get six or more boats.

Then it’s the RYA Dinghy Show at Alexandra Palace on the 2nd and 3rd March. Once again we’ll have a Class Assoication stand. We are also looking for a few more volunteers this year, especially to help setup the Stand on the Friday and break it down on the Sunday. All volunteers get a free ticket to the show. Please drop Caroline a note if you can help.

The Dinghy Show is a great place to catch up with everyone and get those last few things you need for the new season, we always see lots of interest in the Lightning stand so stop by for a chat if you’re coming along.

In between all these happenings, John is looking to put a little competition together for those winters evenings. As well as sorting out the competition and judging it, John and Robbie have also donated the prize. We’ll be posting up details soon.

So its repairs and prep time again. With all the boats out of the water, remember to take a few photos of those repairs your doing. A few pictures and a little description of little tricks and techniques is always helpful for others with similar little fixes to undertake. Any useful hints, tips and photos you have, just pop them on an email to me and I’ll post them up in our repairs and boat prep pages.
