|SAIL No 96 – built 1983
Cut-down ‘storm’ sail and launching trolley included.
Good condition for its age, with some wear and tear and patched gelcoat. Will need new sail to win serious races, but present one quite adequate for cruising and informal racing. New boat cover.
Buyer to collect – no road trolley – Collection only
Kept at Weir Wood reservoir near Forest Row and East Grinstead in East Sussex. (RH18 5HT).
Lying Weir Wood, East Sussex
|SAIL No 263
Famous in the class for its unique colour scheme, 263 is a well sorted boat with controls that work, a decent sail, a bottom that is pretty smooth for its age, no leaks, a good boom up cover (meaning that rigging consists of pulling the sail up and hooking on outhaul and Cunningham) and a nice trolley.
The downsides are the faded to brown hull, the star cracking on the deck and various bits of white gelcoat on the blue decks. All in all, a great Lightning to join in with a fun bunch of sailors!
