We had a great response to the article about the Class in Yachts and Yachting, website visitors were up
more than 200 percent, twenty two more boats have been added to the boats register and the clubs
directory and general activity is flying along.
We are pretty active on the YandY Class Pages. Remember to take a look here if you are not familiar with the Classes pages on their website: Yachts and Yachting Classes - Lightning
Our next and last event of the series is Dorchester on Thames SC, on the 15th October. Dorchester has a great little lake, just South of Oxford. It is very easy to get too, on the main Oxford to Reading road, or via the A34 from Abingdon. We sailed there last year and had a great event. Info and Notice of Racing: HERE
The New Series
The 2011-2012 series starts with the Rum and Mince Pie at West Oxford SC on the 12th November. West Oxford is always a well attended with good spectating, sailing taking place in front of the large warm clubhouse. More info and Notice of Racing: HERE
Preparations for the Class dinner after the Rum and Mince Pie at West Oxford are well in hand. This is a very informal event just dinner down the pub (the Lord Kitchener) after the sailing. Everyone is welcome partners, the kids, the dog etc. It is a really friendly get together, ideal to find out more about the Class, or catch up with old friends. There are more details on the website: HERE
Lots of activity on the boat front, just two boats available at the moment, check out the for sale pages: HERE
