Welcome to another issue of Flashbytes, we are fast approaching the RYA Dinghy Show and shortly after, the start of our 2012 season.
If you have not yet sent Sue your 2012 membership subscription, then this would be a good time to get your chequebook out. Class Association membership is just £16.00 per year and great value, with a very supportive Class Association, lots of help and advice to hand, frequent website updates, on-line resources, quarterly newsletters in both paper and electronic formats, a good race series and many other little bits and pieces. You can find further details and membership information here: MEMBERSHIP INFO
We have more people currently looking for a Lightning than I have seen for quite a few years, in fact we have so much interest that we have started a BOATS WANTED thread on the Members Blog. Not only are people looking for boats, but good second-hand sails and other kit. If you are thinking of selling, or have any other kit to sell, drop me a line to advertise for FREE on the website.
Up FOR SALE on the website right now are: LN29, LN402, LN406 as a hull only and LN266 newly posted up this week.

Did You Know?
This is getting hard now, so who else knows interesting facts and snippets about our Class?
The strongest Nationals attendance was in 1999 and thirty eight boats took part in the racing that weekend. For the last few years we have been solidly back over the twenty mark at the Nats and of course we are looking for even stronger attendances this year. Nowhere near as scary as it sounds, helms of ALL abilities have a thoroughly good time at open events and the Nats, pop along and give one a try, you will be hooked before you know it.
